Postgraduate diploma in a Bradford MBA?

Hi there,

Let me explain my background first.

I have been studying the Bradford online MBA for more than a year and have achieved 80 credits so far. In order to achieve MBA, I would have to complete 160 credits.

The issue in here is that my exam of Strategic Management (a core subject) will probably be fail, just awaiting the result...

To be honest, I didn't really have much time to study so because the progress is quite tight (3 months for 2 modules) especially that Corporate Finance was in the same semester that I have used a lot of time to complete the assignment.... I could clearly feel that Corporate Finance is the most trouble subject compared to the 80 credits I have achieved so far. However I am confident that I could pass so.

To come back to the subject, I will have a chance to retake Strategic Management in Oct anyhow and would have a 3 months (Jul - Oct) to only focus on this subject. But I'd like to ask what I should do if I fail again that I wouldn't be able to achieve MBA.

I will study 40 credits from Jan - Jun that shouldn't be an issue for me and will then be able to complete more than 120 credits that fufills the requirement for a postgraduate diploma.

I believe that a postgraduate diploma does help for another MBA application, but I don't think I will have energy to study all of the subjects again... Can other MBA (DL) be chosen with a few exemptions? I live in Asia, so only DL MBA could be considered.

Also is a postgraduate diploma useful in terms of career progression? Many thanks.

Regards,

Ronald

Many universities will offer RPL. Usually not for as high as 50% though. The school is well ranked, so it is worth checking out in my opinion. This is the best I can think of

Thanks for your advices George. I will definitely consider if really required.

Hi Duncan,

Yes, I could defer. But it seems that (not entirely sure) taking 2 modules in a semester is a must, so deferring so seems to be useless. Also I totally underestimated the difficulties of assignment of Corporate Finance... Anyhow all of this have passed, I will have to focus the last 4 modules in Jan - Jul and then start preparing the exam of strategic management held in Oct if really needed. The management project has of course not been submitted.

But it's better than that I have passed all other modules including the management project, but then fail in strategic management...

Hopefully I could obtain marginal fail for strategic management, but of course, it is not too optimistic...

I think what it comes down to is that you need to focus on that class and pass it. There's no sense in worrying about what will happen if you don't pass a class in the future. Get outside help, like a tutor, if necessary.
