Hello everybody,

I know that there are alredy a lot of different threads about similiar topics, but perhaps there is someone who can give me an advice or some information to my situation.
I am currently choosing between following distance learning MBA programs: Strathclyde, Durham, Birmingham and Bradford.
My goal is it to gain general management and business skills besides my technical skills (I am an engineer with focus on supply chain) and on the other side I am looking for a degree from an reputated english university that can help me to land a job in an english speaking country in the future.
Due to the fact that I will be working full time, flexibility is a huge point for me, for example when it comes to attending exams and compulsory seminars. The possibility to extend the studytime would be an important factor as well. So it is not only a question about rankings and reputation although they are important.
Perhaps there is someone who can tell me a little bit about their experiences at one of those programs. Is one of the programs not recommendable at all? Which one would you choose in my situation?
At the moment I think that I would go for Strathclyde.

The Birmingham programme has only just started, so that's a bit risky. The other three are very good and will meet your needs. If you search this site there's a lot of discussion, and a Durham student gave an especially detailed account. Strathclyde and Durham seem to have the strongest schools and careers services, so I would focus on those.

Plus, Durham is ranked quite highly in the FT ranking, with strong salary growth...

No, it doesn't.

Concerning Birmingham, what do you mean with risky? Don´t you think that a good university like Birmingham should manage to run a competitive online MBA?
I thought that their online MBA already started because there are some intakes in 2015 mentioned on their homepage.

Yes, I think they had a small intake in September 2015: http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/news/latest/2015/04/online-postgraduate-degrees.aspx I mean it's risky for the same reason the first cycle of every course is risky. It's hard to get it right full time, and that is especially the case for a school with no experience in online teaching. With small volumes, it's impossible to have the resources needed to get the sort of slick online experience you'd have at Henley, Warwick or Durham that have graduated thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, of distance learning students and have learnt a huge amount. Imperial, which is richer and better, failed with its online MBA.
