Hi Duncan, my aim is to improve my accademic background with focus on sales and marketing ( computer engineering and master in management from Bologna University) and become more attractive with multinational firm an maybe change industry in the next future (Italy or Europe). I can't leave my actual job ( 6 years of experience in sales and finance role) and I have a totale budget of 20k€

In line with my budget ( around 20k€) I was looking for this triple accredited program:
1) MBA online at Strathclyde Business School ( the fee is about 20k pound)
3) MBA online at Durham University Business School ( the fee is about 22k pound)
4) Executive diploma in Marketing and Sales at Esade Business School ( the fee is about 12k€) with the possibility to get an extension and obtain the executive master
5) any general management program ( in blended format and few days on campus) for example from Yale School of Management or Cambridge judge BS with a total fee of 15k€

which program in your opinion will be the better opportunity? Which of the mentioned school has a strong reputable name?

thanks in advance
Regards

I'm not the only person here. Fron what you write, I think you need to invest in aclearer career strategy, not a qualification.

Thanks Duncan
But if I decide to move to an MBA, which business school it’s more reputable? Durham or Strathclyde?
In the other hand Esade is a top ten BS in Europe with a great sales and marketing department..

HI Durham,
I want to move in marketing and sales function specially in hitech company ( Italy or Europe). I would like to add to my CV a BS with a strong reputation and a solid department in sales and marketing.
In line with my budget I thought a distance learning MBA ( I don't know which BS from Durham or Strathclyde is better for my goal) or an executive diploma ( 6 month) in sales and marketing from a top ten BS.

Europe's labour markets are really national. I guess you speak Spanish, since the Esade diploma is taught in Spanish, English and Italian. Which of these business schools have the best alumni networks in the countries you are targetting? Esade has a really active alumni network, unlike Durham. The exec ed courses you mention won't give any alumni status.

A diploma in one topic won't be equal to a MBA.

Read the post linked in my profile page about how to use LinkedIn to research schools.

I think you need career strategy more than an MBA.

If I choose for MBA in distance learning what do you suggest me ? Strathclyde or Durham?

Both are really solid programs - these are really good choices.

Durham is ranked in the FT's Online MBA Ranking so, all other factors considered, this one probably has a slight edge.

However, it really depends on your goals and specifically where you want to grow your network. For instance, Strathclyde has a great network in the Middle East, due to its study centres in Dubai and Oman.

Thanks Larry,
but if I would to do a full time MBA, it's too late starting at 36 years? Some advice in Europe with a budget of 20k?

I don't see why that is too late.

I want to move in marketing and sales function specially in hitech company ( Italy or Europe).

You want to be as narrow as possible in defining your career goals. If you want to work in Italy, great, there are many good MBA programs in the country that can help you land a job in the tech field. For Europe broadly though, this goal is too vague. Pick countries where you can speak the language and where you would be happy to work, and then pick your schools.
