DL vs EMBA

Marko
Dear All,

Please support me, I need to know the pons and cons of distance learning from employer’s point of views (market opinion) as all the universities certificate won’t mention the method of induction while the transcript will mention the details.

In the same regard, I am wondering that I could get world class degree like Boston university online with a very low cost in relation to the on campus programs.

Finally and with considering of fees, travel and accommodation, I am comparing between Bradford university (EMBA or DL) and Boston university online knowing that I am an African with a plan of movement to Europe or USA as a middle term objective.

My main goal of taking MBA is to upgrade my career path as am currently in a middle management level.

Thanks

I think the EMBA is seen as a better option for general managers, because of the way it can address leadership and soft skills, and the DL MBA better for functional managers. Because of the networking benefit and acculturation advantages of the time on campus, the EMBA is better for transition. However for making a move in country you will ideally need to consider full time programmes.

The other option for the US, if you can attend a six week summer school, is the Harvard ALM in management.

Where are you located? Do either of these schools have decent networks in your location, industry, or company specifically?

I don't think you can reasonably assume either of these degrees would be good to leverage into working in Europe or the USA. For that you'd need either (a) a full-time MBA in one of those countries, or (b) some other way of doing it (for instance, working for a multinational company with an office in a country where you want to work...)
