distance in distance learning

Hi there, I was looking to get an opinion about Distance Learning programs vs. social interaction among peers, faculty and other school organizations and clubs. Does anyone feel that something might be lost by doing an online MBA? Are connections more difficult to make when you're not in the classroom? Thanks for your feedback.

Any feedback about distance learning programs? I suppose I'm most interested in knowing if the online programs make it more difficult to get connected to the industry and find work? Thank you.

This is a pretty common question, and I think the answer is yes. There is obviously a whole lot less networking in a DL program. DL programs are more about skilling up in your current job than finding a new one.

Thanks for the info. I guess I never really thought about the Distance program being more about 'skilling up' in your current career. I'm interested in International Relations and I'm sort of new to this whole MBA world. I was looking into Asian schools and I thought the distance learning program might be a good choice because I can't see myself moving to Asia right now. That said, I think what I really need to do is focus on picking up my work experience.
