Hi everyone,

I'm from Korea, and I want to enter a US MBA program.

My gpa is very low (2.0),
but I have 6+ years of excellent experience managerial experience in a company where I performed very well.

I am studying for the GMAT and TOEFL right now, but I don't know if I will get a good score. What are my chances of being accepted to a US MBA school? I don't care about the name of the school.

Thanks!

dear wityes,

if your track record(work experience) is impressive, you might get into a program with this gpa, but you will also probably need a good GMAT score and essays to get into a good one.

if you mean you don't care about the name, because you plan to stay in your company, then i can understand it, but otherwise the name of the school is important indeed! it has to be a name recognized by company recruiters.

whats important anyway, also in schools that are not ranked, is proper accreditation, that would insure a certain standard.

If you're talking about top 20, you'd need at least a 680 (or ideally, 700+) to be competitive given your low GPA. You'd also need to pull off some stellar essays, and be able to pronounce a coherent and compelling career goal.
