requirements for MBA admission
Hi all,Mon Nov 16, 2009 03:27 PM Just wondering if I can apply to MBA? I am holding a degree in linguistics and have less than 2 years of experience in banking. I have a feeling that I am more eligible for Bachelor but not sure... |

The best thing to advance your career right now would probably be to get a bachelor's degree if you don't have one already. It would be exceedingly difficult to get into an MBA program without one. Two years of experience in banking is a good start, supplement that with an internship and part time work during your undergrad education.Mon Nov 23, 2009 10:35 AM After that you'll be more than prepared to apply for MBA programs. |

Yes, Ralph. this is exactly what I am planning to do. However, it is difficult to choose a school, as all the prestigious ones in the USA seem to be extremely expensive ... Anyway, I need to pass TOEFL and maybe GMAT first ...

requirements for MBA admission
hi,Wed Dec 16, 2009 05:51 PM on a different note what do you think of my profile.? i have a 3 yr diploma in hotel mgt from IHM Calcutta, India (PUSA Branch). is this considered equivalent to a degree programme.? as it was a full time programme for 3 yrs. i have 68% marks. just that they termed it as a diploma. do u see any concerns here for me to apply to an MBA program.? i have 9.5 yrs of total work ex. first 5.5 yrs as Associate Director in a 5 star Hotel and the other 4 yrs as a Manager for an MNC in outsoucing space. thanks. va |

Hi Va againThu Dec 17, 2009 04:53 AM i jus replied to your post on my blog further you have a grea work exp, for a fact, if you have 10 years work exp, you dont even need a degree to enroll for MBA - you can direct admission , with out bachelors, so i feel, all u need right now is bit of confidence... all the best.. it would be cake walk to get into tier-2 Business schools |

Thanks a lot for ur response.Thu Dec 17, 2009 05:40 AM What do you think of ISB full time Vs ISB PGPMAX programme. PGPMAX is a new programme and will cost 25 lacs. Is it worth spending this much on a part time programme.? or one should opt for a full time programme.? Thanks. |

Hi againThu Dec 17, 2009 05:48 AM ISB is the big brand( brand sells with top MNC's) , ranked top 20 globally, fact 1- ISb admission for full time 2010 are over, if i am right? if it is a distance learning program,my personal suggestion would be NO, if its something like E-MBA, than may be, but for a fact if u study in UK, you would be spending same amount, and more brand, once u come to back to india? as u knw in india- eduction UK, scores more points further getting in ISB would be no cake walk, one of my colleague got rejected this year, he is from BITS PIlani + 670 gmat score + 4 years work exp, in an MNC,application rejected ! :) |

I agree with u. full time admissions are over now. PGPMAX last date is Mar. Its not distance learning. you spend 6 days at ISB every 6th week for a period of 1 yr. Thu Dec 17, 2009 05:54 AM Plus there is 2 week programme towards the end at Wharton & Kellogs and one week in Brazil. Min exp is 10 yrs what they are asking. Since this is a first batch, and i can get recommendation from my company plus a friend who is ISM alumni. They are not asking for GMAT also..so just thinking if spending 25 L makes sense or not (even if its ISB). one small advantage is i wont be losing salary for a yr. but one thing is for sure..if i will do an MBA i will only do from tier 1 institute. |
