CEIBS - Job prospects in surrounding countries
I hear consistently that CEIBS graduates get really good jobs in China based MNCs. Does anyone have some idea on what the job prospects for CEIBS graduates are in the other nearby growing economies like Singapore, India, Korea, etc? Is CEIBS recognized outside China?

CEIBS is a regional MBA... just like HK-UST, NUS, NTU...Mon Nov 09, 2009 02:56 PM With CEIBS MBA, you'll be a big shot in shanghai... but if you step outside china, you're basically a nobody... Of course, if you build your network in China, and have 5+ years of work experiences in Shanghai, ... Everybody on this Planet, will love to hire you since everybody want to go into china... also, if you study MBA in china, you can go ahead try your luck on entrepreneurship, it costs only ~US$10k to start a good business... Best of luck! |

"CEIBS is a regional MBA" - i wouldn't say that. CEIBS is a highly ranked program, one of the leading in the world and the Alumni are amongst the best payed in the world. i think you stand a good chance of getting good jobs in Asia. in fact, 2 of the companies that recruit there the most are not chines: Tesco and michelin.

Are you by any chance an HK-UST alumni ?Mon Nov 16, 2009 02:25 AM Recently I bought the Economist 'Which MBA?' Magz, and it's shown that most placement from HK-UST are AXA, cushman *something*. They are also hardly on anyones wish list. I believe Hong Kong Univ MBA program is one of the best program in Hong Kong, but how come nobody ever mention their name in this Forum. |

i wouldn't say it wasn't mentioned in this forum - take a look at that:Mon Nov 16, 2009 11:02 AM www.find-mba.com/boardsearch/q/hku i think the reason why HKUST is mentioned ofter has to do with the fact that it is still higher ranked(although they climbed in the economist rankings this year to 38). HKUST is also considered one of the best schools in china. IMO anyone with a MBA out of the 3 above mentioned schools should have no problem getting a good job after finishing the degree - china is a very important market for almost all big multinationals, and people with knowledge of this market will be always welcomed. |

do you care to elaborate? what are the reasons to make you belive that?Tue Nov 17, 2009 11:07 AM this is not a bushing, i am truly interested! HKUST do seem to have a good marketing department, but i agree that it doesn't say anything about the quality of the school, and rankings can be misleading! would you say hku is better because of the faculty? business connections? partnerships? ??? and also - is there a big difference in the price of the two programs? Wed Nov 18, 2009 10:14 PM do you care to elaborate? what are the reasons to make you belive that? cmon people hkust vs hku, is that even a question? just look at electives/professors listings. the only thing which might be attractive is a guaranteed exchange spot at lbs or columbia whereas at hkust you have many other choices but slots are not guaranteed. i will admit it i had to look at what/who AXA is but certainly would take them over a tire and supermarket companies. im applying to hkust, possibly insead as well but that would be a very optimistic scenario for me. |

I live in Hong Kong, to tell you the truth, local people only see ust is no 3 university in hk in general, of course it is still the best three in hk, and it is nothing special to attend this school to the local people.

I am applying to HK-UST next month because their degree is recognized in asia, no matter you go. Better than any those Chinese MBA. HK-UST research centres for business are top notch, however the faculties are pretty unknown (expect this one guy called proffesor larry franklin, this guy is an ASSET to HK-UST).

If you look at all the business departments and their research published you will come to the conclusion that they are world class. professor Jie Gan is probably the foremost academic authority on China Finance at the moment. |

Well, i assume that even the local on the street people in HK is very knowledgeable nowadays to know the concept of mba. Without backing evidence, i would not be so bold to say that "ALL" genius students in mainland apply to one school or the other.
