Hi everyone,

Could anyone please tell me about the significance of AMBA?

I have received an offer from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and Brunel University, England. The former is not accredited. However, according to the general feedback I have received, Aberdeen is a well-recognised university.

I am not sure whether I should opt for the accredited one or I should choose the one which is having a good reputation .

Hi,

Well, I must say that its a tough choice to make between the twos.
Brunel on one hand looked a small time Uni trying its best to sell its degrees barking the AMBA accreditation loud while on the other hand Aberdeen is an old Uni but the B School has absolutely no accreditation whatsoever!!
Honestly, it would be best in your interests to know regarding the employment success rate both the Schools before making any decision. If time, patience and finance permits do apply to other good schools.

Thank you so much for your response.

Here , I would like to mention couple of things:

1) I have been working in a pharmaceutical industry for almost 5 years. The reason I am trying to make a choice between these two universities is that both of them are offering MBA in “International Health Care Management” and this is the career I wish to pursue.

2) I have also received offers from Cardiff, Liverpool and Sterling University.

Could you please give me your opinion based on my limited choice?

Hi Claire,

I understand, you want a specialist MBA .. i searched in the Education UK and the Prospects site...well indeed the options are very less ... there r some colleges which teach MBA (Healthcare) but the degree being given by the U of Wales I dont think neither of us got a good reason to be enthusiastic.

Had I been in your place I would have gone to Aberdeen...not that I love that Uni/B school but seriously the other one is just a small fry in the powerful & glamorous world of business education.

Regarding the rest three Liverpool is the best. In fact its best among all five you have talked about except that they dont teach Healthcare.

By the way did you consider the EMBA (Healthcare) of Nottingham? You are eligible since they are asking for 5 yrs of work ex. Fees: UK-18K, International-19K.
