MBA Italy
I have been looking at a couple of schools on here based out in Italy. I studied in Spain while taking a semester abroad and enjoyed it. I would go back there to get my MBA but I would like to try a new place like Italy. The one that seems the most recognizable is Bocconi. But can anyone tell me more about University of Pisa? I have not seen it on any ranking lists, so it seems like it might be a weak program, would that be a fair assumption? I would like to start in January 2010 and most programs start either September or October of 2009. I don't want to wait a full year to apply to schools. Any ideas? Thanks!

I did my MBA at SDA Bocconi a couple of years ago and i do NOT recommend this program.Tue Oct 13, 2009 10:08 PM There are so many reasons why, but the most important ones are: 1. The Italian law do NOT recognize the MBA in Bocconi as a Master program. This becomes an issue if you want to work in Italy and you are not a EU citizen. 2. The school is well know in Italy, but the average italian managers do not know what an MBA is. So do not expect a high salary or a career boost if what you want is to work in Italy. 3. Italian bureaucracy makes everyone crazy. On average you have to wait 10 months for your study permit. |

Hi, actually as far as I know the MBA of MIP politecnico is also recognized as Master degree and so according to a recent Italian law, students graduated from there can stay in Italy with a permit of work if they receive a job offer.

Wow I had no idea about Bocconi....that's weird because it is ranked highly in the world, and the fact that it is not recognized in Italy is weird.Wed Oct 14, 2009 03:21 PM What's an average salary of a MBA graduate in Italy then? For those non eu people who are lucky enough to get a job... This is making me think twice about applying to a program in Italy. |

well not all the MBAs are also Master Degree.Wed Oct 14, 2009 04:30 PM If you do an MBA in Italy, it doesn't mean you'll be working in Italy, I think the list of options you'll have are worldwide. |

I am sorry I don't know anything about that University in terms of MBA. The 2 most reputed ones are MIP and SDA.Thu Jan 07, 2010 04:35 PM Pisa ia a very good University but in terms of bachelors and master degrees, I do not know anything in terms of MBA positioning... |
