IMD Establishes Research Center in Shanghai
Swiss business school seeks insights from "most important emerging market"; next stop: Mumbai, IndiaJun 11, 2007
The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland has established a China Research Center in Pudong, Shanghai. The center will be directed by IMD Professor Katherin Xin, and will focus on studying existing and new players in "the most important emerging market in the world."
According to the IMD website, one of the goals of the new center is "to understand the issues executives confront when doing business in China, or when pursuing international market opportunities from a Chinese base. These case studies about best practices (or even failures) are then taken back into the classroom."
IMD also plans to establish a similar research center in Mumbai, the commercial capital of another major emerging Asian market, India.
